The debut release from new Def For Life artist J. Brown is a certified classic! The album features production from Daneja Mentale, Alexis Carrington, Fatal J, Rick Flare aka Nailz, B. Freezy, and Stone B. The twenty-something emcee started in the game working with Chan Willams of Psylent Entertainment 5 years prior to joining the Soul Mafia Family tree to record this promising debut. Often referred to as a young Jay-Z, Brown takes on topics of life, love, pain and music throughout the 17-track project. The original artwork is an eye-catcher as well as the music is an ear-grabber. The cover displays an angel inside of a cathedral, brandishing a pistol. However, violence plays no part in the lyrics. No h*es or b*tches here (except for Daneja Mentale's referral to Bill O'Riely "but O'Riely you ain't that smart you'll never figure us out you racist b*tch"). Still, that's good news, especially for Hip-Hop during the post-Don Imus era. Trust me, the album is that good. The highlights of this album are "Me", the Rick Flare-produced "Down", the title track, the Carrington-produced "The Feel" and "Focus" which features Daneja Mentale on the outro verse.
