J BROWN & KAIJI (IN STEREO) - HOMAGE

Homage is collaborative effort by emcees J. Brown & Kaiji (In Stereo) paying tribute to those who paved a way musically and historically. Brown and Kaiji (In Stereo) met through Daneja Mentale, and shortly began exchanging verses on one another's projects. The two discovered they had done so many songs together, they decided to do something official, and it became Homage. J. Brown representing Union City, Tennessee and Kaiji (In Stereo) representing Chicago, Illinois add elements of soul, lyricism, and the origins of peace, love, and unity. Homage represents what music means to them, and how it has changed their lives for the better. Homage allows the audience to go back into time, and remember when music used to mean something.

QUAD CONTROL STATION - PULSE

It has been since Quad Control Station recorded "Bass Xpo 2006: The Low Decibel Theory" which found an official release in 2010. A lot has changed but some things remain the same. "Pulse" is more of a throwback to "Bass Xpo 2001" and "The Sound Barrier", which is half dance and half Euro-Techno Bass. Some selections were produced during the unreleased "Bass Xpo 2008" sessions. Those titles are: "Ultrasonic (Big Beat Blaster)", "Intergalactic" and "Blue Water". New tracks like "Crash" is more Rave than Techno, but is placed well between "Electric City" and "Da Bottom". The track listing plays like a soundtrack of a science-fiction (tracks 1-6)-romance (tracks 7-12) thriller (tracks 14 & 15), without missing a step. Enjoy this now cause it may be a while before another one drops.

Track-listing:

  1. Intro: They Have Returned
  2. Pulse
  3. Electric City
  4. Crash
  5. Da Bottom
  6. House Bounce II
  7. Asian Sunrise
  8. Intergalactic
  9. Blue Water
  10. Raindown
  11. Heartbeats
  12. Midnight Episodes
  13. Ultrasonic (Big Beat Blaster)
  14. Deep
  15. Zone Out

DANEJA MENTALE - REDEMPTION: HOME IS WHERE THE HATE IS PT. 2

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!

Originally planned as an EP in 2010, "Redemption..." was plagued with many delays due to computer crashes, lost verses, personal issues and changes in production personnel. The original plan, just as the idea of the unreleased "Listen Closely Vols. 1 & 2" was to have various producers and guests on staff. However many of the connections failed to respond or contribute any submissions for the project. Producers Alexis Carrington, Don Beezy, and Dr+ sent beats for the new album, but only one made it to the album. The one track submitted by Dr+ turned into the street banger "Go Hard" featuring Monsta Music emcee Nice. Daneja Mentale produces the rest of the album, switching up from street jams to songs of inspiration. Unlike the original "Home Is Where The Hate Is" of 2006, more guests jump on board. The album also features verses from J. Brown, Kaiji In Stereo, Syke Pachino (aka Syko Rah), Bone Breaker of Phasnicks, Chaundon (formally of Hall Of Justus/Justus League), JFK, Lu Chin Chen, singer Toya Brown, poet Mentally Armed, Royal Entry, Cosmo, and Sparqklipz. Songs like "The Dear Jane Letter", "Love Me Or Leave Me Alone" and "Lady" are self-explanatory. "Dreams Of Confusion", "Redemption" and "Visions" vent out Daneja's personal demons and inner feelings. "United" marks the first time in Def For Life/SME history where many of the key artists ever performed on one track together. Backed by a haunting and dark sped-up sample courtesy of Adele's "Hometown Glory"; all verses flow together as if they were written in the session. Daneja wraps up the album with "Full Circle". On this track Daneja speaks on issues of dealing with the ups and downs of trying to be discovered. Some tracks on here were originally from "Listen Closely" ("Get This Work", "Head To The Sky" and "Visions"). "Love Me Or Leave Me Alone" was slated for "The Common Ground Experience" but the lyrics came up missing until a year later. This album will be last of any newly recorded material from Daneja Mentale (At least that's what we've been told).

TRACK LISTING:

  2. Go Hard (feat. Nice) - 2:23

QUAD CONTROL STATION - LOST BEATS [EP]

Later in the year, maybe around the Summer Q.C.S. drops a new EP entitled "Pulse". Until then here are some tracks that were once considered to be lost in 2003. I guess you can say "Lost Tracks" is an appropriate title for this EP. These tracks were originally produced for the album "Bass XPO Vol.3" but were erased due to computer malfunction. Luckily the tracks did exist due to analogue processing. This will explain the quality of the EP. The only track that actually survived the deletion was "Drop", which did land on "Bass XPO Vol. 3".

Track listing:

  1. Ignite
  2. O.M.M.F. (Original version of New Millennium Pimp)
  3. Old School Bass
  4. 100MPH
  5. Feelin' Good (Original version of Ecstasy
  6. Drop (Original Mix)

DR. + - DOANDROIDSDREAMOFELECTRICLOVERS?

"Doandroidsdreamofelectriclovers?" is a score-like concept from Dr. +. It features the mixing and scratching talents of  Barbaric Merits. This disc does not contain a traditional track listing like his previous efforts. Instead it plays like a mixtape of various tracks.
The sounds blends together, forming a musical movie that stays true to the album's title.

"This is a mix of music I've made to be featured on some upcoming projects and a few singles I have been working on". -DR+

DR. T (aka DR. +) - DR. T'S MEAT AND CHEESE

What can I say about this album? It's DAMN GOOD!
Dr. T's Meat and Cheese as an album title might sound crazy at first, but you should take a listen. The tracklisting reads like a menu, starting withe appetizers, then the main course meal, followed by dessert. At the age of 15, Dr. T produced this masterpiece and released it two years later independently. Guests who come in to dine on the blue plate special include: Savant of Rare Breed, Awe, Reach, Les Ismore, Milkdrop, CNN, and Anti Crew. When this album is not serving orders with the emcees, it brings in some great instrumentals such as "Twylights" and "The Very 5th Time". Emcee Awe brings in a rapid-fire flow on "...A Side of Grits...", that sounds like a hybrid of an early Eminem and Tech9ne, which is a good thing. Reach talks about his own life relations on "What Can I Do? (Dietary Restrictions)". Anti Crew drops a fun-filled track entitled "Better Now (Full)" There is so much that can be said about this album. But as of now, you need to dig in... Bon Appetite!
  1. THE DRTY INTRO
  2. THE GRITTY INTRO (SALAMI & GOUDA)
  3. THE VERY 5TH TIME
  4. FEELING GOOD FINALLY
  5. THE FLAVOR OF LOVE (SMOKED MORCILLA)
  6. PERFECT PROFESSION (feat. SAVANT of RARE BREED)
  7. CHEESECAKE MARTYNA)
  8. ...A SIDE OF GRITS... (feat. AWE)
  9. TWYLIGHTS
  10. ON MY OWN (CHICKEN PROVOLONE)
  11. FRUCTOSE (FULL OF SUGAR)
  12. WHAT CAN I DO? (DIETARY RESTRICTIONS) (feat. REACH)
  13. VITAMIN C (feat. LES ISMORE)

SME AFFILIATE SPOTLIGHT: DR+

DR+ aka DRPlus2 aka Dr. T aka Silas Gravybread
If you could mix the elements of George Clinton, Rza, Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, The Prodigy, and J Dilla... This would be the outcome. Dr+, to some known as Dr. T, Silas Gravybread or DrPlus2. Coming from Kansas City, Dr+ has produced or remixed tracks for various artists in the game (Kaiji In Stereo, Savant of RAREBREED, Anti-Crew, Flying Lotus, Daneja Mentale). His range of production is so diverse that it's impossible to place it in a certain category. At 15 Dr+ released "Meat & Cheese", a compilation containing some of the hottest underground emcees around the nation. It also showcased some great instrumental pieces that blend well in the track listing. Other albums in his discography includes: "A Left Consciousness", "...pilgrimage", "24OURS", "Between Natural Dust and Digital Eden", "Hands Like James'", "OOH LA LA" and "The Happy Box Game". He is definitely one to look out for and listen to. #co-sign

SME AFFILIATE SPOTLIGHT: MR. DILLIGENCE

MR. DILLIGENCE

*taken from the NME Wreckidz site

Virginia native, Massachusetts transplant Mr. Dilligence is the founding father of TRP Productionz and NME Wreckidz.

His bio is almost too long to get into, but lets just start with the fact that he has been a musician since the age of 14, and a producer/engineer since the age of 19. He bought his first 4-Track cassette recorder and sat in his dorm room his freshman year of college at Salem State and blew off all his classes to pursue his dream of making quality and artistic work on his own.

He then graduated to a digital 8-Track and a project studio set up about 5 years later and formed "MAD TR!P" along with brother True Persuasion and a few other down cats. Since then he has not looked back, producing (which in his terms means making beats from scratch, engineering, mastering, everything) for over 25 underground emcees from the Boston Suburb/Cape Ann area and releasing them on his NME WRECKIDZ record label.

Since then he has produced songs for several licensing deals under his belt, including tracks on the Ghetto Brawls DVDs series, several Indy movies (the Kingston High, Holla!), BMX bike, skateboard and wakeboard video/DVDs as well as tracks on prominent mixtapes put out from coast to coast (Potent Product, Meddafore, CUDJs, etc). He is currently still producing for several local emcees while keeping his mind abroad on the bigger picture, while still having the time to raise his beautiful daughter and enjoy his blessed life.

Words from Daneja Mentale:

I became a big fan of Dillz (that's what I call him) since I first heard his team in 2001.
During that time Napster was free and illegal and Crunk music started taking over in the South. I stumbled into a track recorded by NME Wreckidz artist Lu Chin Chen on MP3 dot com. The title was "Money" and I was attracted to the dark twisting of Kraftwerk's "It's More Fun To Compute" sample and Lu's thought-provoking lyrics. Not only did I hear this song, but there were also others from his crew and I instantly became a fan. I contacted Dillz on another music network by the name of Soundclick and we bonded a friendship. Around 2006 we started exchanging music. He'll send beats to me and I'd send remixes of some of his artists' songs. He is one of the most down to earth individuals in the game. He is my musical brother and even though we haven't had a chance to meet in person, he is family. I have nothing but respect for his work ethic, for he works diligently.

F**K PIPA & SOPA!!!!! STOP INTERNET CENSORSHIP!

To those who have the "HOME IS WHERE THE HATE IS (Rejected Beats)" or any of the recent Daneja Mentale or T.A.M.P.E.R. posts, Please make a back-up copy to prevent losing it. Due to the assholes working with PIPA & SOPA, the original rar files were lost in the battle against internet censorship. This is very unfair to me, you and other account holders with legitimate files. I will re-up the posts via [an un-named file sharing source]. Thank you for your patience.

KAIJI (In Stereo) & KEON BLANK - THE RELEASE EP

"The Release" is the collaboration EP by emcee Kaiji (In Stereo) representing Chicago (U.S),  and producer Keon Blank representing his Eastern-European native, Estonia. A project completed from the exact distance of 4556.98 miles, the EP is the first try of the respective artists to work on a more capacious project in an overseas context. Up, close and personal, it´s a set of tracks which expresses a certain period of time and assembly of thoughts. Moreover and most importantly though, it can be seen as the foundation and sample for future projects. A proving ground, in a way.

This 4-track EP is a very solid one. The album starts off with the Jones featured banger "Starmuzik" where Kaiji and Jones both go hard with the verses. On "Tomorrow, Next Year" Kaiji channels Chicago all over this jazzy beat. "All I Need" is a direct nod to Hip Hop featuring Dee Jackson. The title cut "The Release" does just that... releases the pain and angst dealing with a failed relationship. The only flaw about "The Release" is too short of an album. However, this is only the beginning. There is so much to come from this artist. Stay tuned!

  1. Starmuzik (feat. Jones)
  2. Tomorrow, Next Year
