Happy 2019!!
Happy New Year!!! (not happy new years... 😒). Def For Life Records is now reformed as Def For Life Entertainment. There were a series of events that led to the changes starting with the original logo. I decided to do away with the skull which was the most recognizable section of the logo. One of the former artists unsuccessfully tried to battle me for the ownership of the Def For Life name, attempting to rename it (which puzzled me and the rest of the former and present artists (I own the trademark to the name, logo , artwork, and many of the master recordings). Besides, the label was originally founded by myself and Gabriel Holland in 1994. The next reason behind the change was to add more to the company. I just didn't want to limit it to just releasing music. I'm also focusing on filmography and photography in order to expand across the board with various visions. The music division was already expanding in other directions outside of its core genre, Hip Hop. My recent album, "Me & My Music: The Album" was the last one under the Def For Life Records label.
We have many projects coming soon from Lu Chin Chen, A Rapper Named Brown (formally known as J. Brown) and Quad Control Station. Be on the lookout!

DANEJA MENTALE - Me & My Music: The Album
After over 6 years of delays, life changes, computer viruses, missing files, damaged artwork, relocation and other issues, it's FINALLY HERE!!! "ME & MY MUSIC: THE ALBUM" IS FINALLY HERE! The FINAL ALBUM for real!
Originally, my previous compilation, also titled "Me & My Music" was originally slated to be my final album; so was “Redemption”, “The Common Ground Experience” and well... you get it. However, there were a few problems with the security function on my computer and the Ransomware virus deleted majority of the lyrics, production and photos for the album. A few of the songs were saved and along with the extra songs that were written. I decided to compile the demos and use the new, unrecorded songs for an eponymous album, now re-titled "Me & My Music: The Album". This is a double album, my first in years since "Listen Closely" which was released originally in 2009. This will be my most personal and political album ever and I hope you all who have supported me in the past will enjoy this one too. Coming soon Feb 27, 2018. I decided to hire some additional producers for this album. Additional production is featured by DCPLX, Buff Baggwell, Ki Of NC and Creativ. The additional songs that either didn’t make the final track listing or were destroyed during the virus attack were produced by Alexis Carrington, Black One, and the late Syke Pachino although the production still exists. Those songs were re-recorded afterwards. The album covers topics ranging from the state of current Hip Hop, my own personal life to the problematic issues with sexual abuse and police brutality. I hope you will enjoy this album as much as I enjoyed recording it. #finalalbumforreal Daneja Mentale

Originally from Leominster, Massachusetts, Syke Pachino moved down south, where he spent most of his life[2] and would go on to begin his career in music.
In 2001 Syke signed his first recording contract with Flipn Flava Records, where he released his debut album titled "Georgiarican"[3] under the name "Syko-Rah" and was supported by the single "Darkmoom Setting" which featured a guest appearance from former American Idol semi-finalist, Christopher Aaron. Shortly after the release, Syke went on an eight-year hiatus due to complications with the label and his personal life.
In 2008, he decided to leave Flipn Flava and re-invent himself, recording under the name "Syke Pachino". A year after his departure, a second project "Political Prisoner"[4] was released as a means to fulfill his contract.
Also during this time, he linked up with Brett Life, another producer from Columbus, Ga and released the Def For Life Records' debut "The Rebirth" and the unreleased album, "Life Muzik" .
During the later part of 2009, Syke linked up with Seagram Records (named after the slain Oakland rapper Seagram) to begin working on his next project. As a result, he released his third album "Live By The Code" in 2011.
Syke went on to be nominated for "Hip Hop Male Artist of the Year" at the 2012 GA Music Awards, held in Atlanta, Georgia.[5]
Over the years Syke has worked with many notable artist such as Scarface, Bun B, Spice 1 and Bohagon just to name a few.[6]
Syke has also been featured on tour alongside Young Bleed, Mr. Envi', Chucky Workclothes and others consecutively for the past two years, prepping for the upcoming "Hard Work Pays Off Tour", scheduled to start on April 28th.[7] His next release titled "Only Time Will Tell" is scheduled to be released early fall 2017, under his own label, Ear Hustlin' Entertainment.

QUAD CONTROL STATION - PULSE II
At last!! It's finally here!! The new album from Quad Control Station has arrived with 12 new tracks!! "Pulse II" continues the sounds of the Techno-Bass/House hybrid. This is the first album from Q.C.S. in 4 years. Originally the title was "Booty Bass" and it had a sound going back to the Southern Bass sounds of 1995. However due to the fact there aren't any rap vocals contained on any of the songs, it was changed back to its more familiar structure. "Rock U" and "Electronix" are just couple of those songs from the original track listing. "Cali Coastin'" was originally an Earth's Reality song until it was re-produced for Q.C.S. "4 The Bass Lovers" was originally produced in 2010 for an unreleased E.P. It's one of the slower tracks on the album and contains some of the lowest decibels for some true trunk rattling. The weirdest of the 12 tracks is the album-ending "Sci-Fi Movie Ending Credits" (Yes, that's an actual song title) which lives up to its name with some heavy bass notes! As the great Rakim Allah would say... "It's been a long time", but this album is worth the wait. Enjoy.

THE ESSENTIAL DANEJA MENTALE
"The Essential Daneja Mentale" is the ultimate collection of songs recorded between 2004 to 2015. The compilation contains two new songs, "B.D.S." & "War" taken from the upcoming final self-titled album. Unlike the previous compilations "Real Hip Hop" and "Motivation", "The Essential..." is not in chronological order, but in subject content order. Disc one focuses on the subject of braggadocio lyrics, the culture of Hip Hop and the displaying the passion for music. Disc two is more focused on social commentary and personal experiences. There were plans of a third disc of rarities, but the idea was scrapped to prevent an overabundance of material in a single package. For new fans just tuning in to Daneja Mentale; here's a great introduction to his music. For the previous followers, this is just a friendly reminder of the raw and unapologetic sound of the man behind the music.
Produced by Daneja Mentale, DCPLX, Alexis Carrington, Remo Da Produca, Ki of NC, I-26 Nailz, and Don Bo
